CTET February 2026 Notification has been officially released by CBSE. The online application process for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) 2026 begins on 27 November 2025 and will continue until 18 December 2025. Candidates who wish to become teachers for Classes 1 to 8 in central or state-affiliated schools can apply for Paper I, Paper II, or both. The CTET 2026 exam will be conducted on 8 February 2026 in two shifts. Interested and eligible candidates must read the official notification carefully, check the detailed eligibility criteria, and submit the online form through the official website ctet.nic.in.

Application Fee

  • General / OBC (NCL)

    • Only Paper I or Paper II: ₹1000

    • Both Papers: ₹1200

  • SC / ST / Differently Abled

CTET 2026 Eligibility Criteria

 Primary Stage (Class I to V) Eligibility

Candidates applying for CTET Paper I must fulfill any one of the following qualifications:

  • Senior Secondary (10+2) or equivalent with minimum 50% marks and passed/appearing in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed).

  • Senior Secondary (10+2) or equivalent with at least 45% marks and passed/appearing in the final year of 2-year D.El.Ed as per NCTE 2002 Regulations.

  • Senior Secondary (10+2) with minimum 50% marks and passed/appearing in the final year of 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).

  • Senior Secondary (10+2) with minimum 50% marks and passed/appearing in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education).

  • Graduate (Bachelor’s Degree) with passed/appearing final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.

Upper Primary Stage (Class VI to VIII) Eligibilit

Candidates applying for CTET Paper II must possess any one of the qualifications listed below:

  • Graduation (Bachelor’s Degree) and passed/appearing in the final year of 2-year D.El.Ed.

  • Graduation with 50% marks and passed/appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.).

  • Graduation with 45% marks and passed/appearing in 1-year B.Ed. as per NCTE norms.

  • Senior Secondary (10+2) with minimum 50% marks and passed/appearing in the final year of 4-year B.El.Ed.

  • Senior Secondary (10+2) with minimum 50% marks and passed/appearing in the final year of 4-year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed.

  • Graduation with 50% marks and passed/appearing in 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education).

Note:

  • As per NCTE rules, reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC/Divyang) are eligible for 5% relaxation in required qualifications.

  • Candidates must ensure they meet all educational norms before applying.
